Has a TV commercial ever made you tear up a little? Those ASPCA commercials get me every time. One minute I’m watching the latest reality show and the next minute I’m reaching for a tissue as Sarah McLachlan starts singing and I see those poor, helpless animals. I want to look away, but I can’t. Why does this 30 second commercial seem like 5 minutes? Okay, I’ll donate my coffee fund to save the life of an animal.
Not many commercials can make me feel that emotionally connected. Recently I came across some life insurance commercials from Thailand and was blown away at how they tug at your heart strings. These commercials really hit home and showcase the importance of why life insurance is needed for families.
After watching the commercials, I started thinking about all of the insurance policies that I have: my car, my phone, my home, my health. I consider all of them important enough to pay for coverage. So, why do many so many put a lesser importance on life insurance? By law, we have to cover our cars and health, but what about protecting our family? Isn’t that just as important?
Before I started working in the life insurance industry, I didn’t think much about life insurance. Out of sight, out of mind, right? Now, get it.
I’ve heard stories about how life insurance saves families from financial devastation. When a woman and her children unexpectedly lose their husband and father it’s an ultimate heartache, but the fact that they had life insurance to help them out financially brings some light to the terrible situation. It won’t bring their loved one back, but it does offer a bit of peace.
What’s more heartbreaking is when someone I know and care about loses a loved one and they don’t have life insurance. Watching a family deal with the grief of their loss and stressing to find a way to financially get by. Do they sell their house that their family has lived in for 10 years? Do they pull their kids from extracurricular activities because they can no longer afford them? What about college?
