One in six Americans faces hunger.  In Minnesota alone, where Quotacy is headquartered, 540,820 people are food insecure.  According to Feeding America, food insecurity refers to USDA’s measure of lack of access, at times, to enough food for an active, healthy life for all household members and limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate foods.

Quotacy believes in well-being by giving back.  We volunteered through Second Harvest Heartland, a local food bank and member of Feeding America, to help sort and pack food given to people in need.  We paired off and filled and sealed bags of oatmeal.  We had fun by making it a competition between us to see whose team could fill the most bags.

Our small team helped pack over 1600 pounds of food in one evening.  Donating a few hours from your day can make such a big impact on those to whom it truly matters.
