We work for a great company.  Quotacy and its parent company Hallett Financial Group have wonderful owners and each Christmas, Team Quotacy and Team Hallett say “Thank You” by contributing to a gift for them.  Some years the gifts are tangible, like monogrammed bean bag toss games, and some gifts are performed, such as a parody of The 12 Days of Christmas.  This year, however, we wanted to do something a bit different.

Quotacy and Hallett strongly believe in the importance of generosity and helping others.  With this in mind, we decided to pool money together and donate to a charity called Heifer International in the Hallett family name.  Sure, personalized yard games are fun, but we knew our owners would truly appreciate that their work family (Teams Quotacy and Hallett) decided to be philanthropic with this year’s Christmas gift.

About Heifer International

Heifer International’s mission is to work with communities to end world hunger and poverty and to care for the Earth.  While food banks have a similar mission and do great work, providing meals to those who are hungry is just a band-aid.  Heifer’s mission is to empower those who are hungry so they can be self-reliant and never be hungry again.  Heifer links communities and helps bring sustainable agriculture and commerce to areas with a long history of poverty.

What Our Gift Provided

We were able to donate just over $500 to Heifer International and our gift provided the following to families across the world:

  • A water buffalo
  • A flock of ducks
  • An irrigation pump
  • Honeybees
  • A boost of nutrition (basket of fruit and vegetable seeds, chickens, and training in sustainable farming and nutrition)
  • A share of a pig
