Symetra Features & Benefits

What we like

  • Can be converted into a permanent policy.
  • Includes Accelerated Death Benefit Rider at no charge.
  • Coverage approved instantly if applicant qualifies.
  • Some applicants may not need a medical exam—if they qualify for accelerated underwriting.
  • Policy delivered electronically.
  • You can manage your policy online.

What could be better

  • Strict eligibility constraints.

Symetra Instant Coverage

A client who qualifies for instant underwriting approval can start and finish their purchase for coverage completely online in as little as 25 minutes.

  1. Client submits online application and e-signs authorization for Symetra to collect required data.
  2. Symetra’s underwriting program reviews client information pulled from third-party databases, such as the Medical Information Bureau, motor vehicle reports, and Rx history.
  3. System simultaneously works to deliver a real-time decision, whether that’s instant approval, or moving into accelerated underwriting or full underwriting.

If client does not qualify for instant coverage, accelerated underwriting may be an option. Accelerated underwriting requires a bit more information. If approved, coverage offered in 24-72 hours.

If client does not qualify for accelerated underwriting, full underwriting is next option. This requires a life insurance medical exam. Medical records may also be ordered. If approved, coverage offered in about 30 days.
