Accelerated Death Benefit Rider


This rider—also known as a Terminal Illness Accelerated Benefits Rider—is included in your policy at no charge. It gives you access to a portion of your policy’s death benefit, if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness resulting in 12 months or less to live.

Accidental Death Benefit Rider

*Available at additional cost

Your policy’s beneficiary will receive an increased death benefit, if you die due to an accident. Cost varies by age and benefit amount with options ranging from $1,000 to $500,000—not to exceed policy face amount.

Child Rider

*Available at additional cost

For as little as $51.50 per year, add a child rider that covers your children under age 18. Options range from $2,000 to $20,000 in coverage per child. Ask your Quotacy agent for details.

Premium Waiver for Disability

*Available at additional cost

Global Atlantic will waive premium payments during a period of total disability lasting six consecutive months or more. The waived payments don’t have to be paid back. This rider is not available on all policies and the cost varies by age.

The Fine Print

Guidelines & Exclusions

Term Policy
  • Global Atlantic term policy not available in the states of Montana or New York.
Term Conversion
  • Term policy may be converted to any permanent life insurance policy offered by the company.
  • Policy must be converted within the term period or by age 75, whichever is earlier.
Accidental Death Benefit Rider
  • Rider is available to individuals aged 18-60 at issue.
  • Rider is not available to insureds rated greater than Table 4.
  • Rider benefit will not be paid out if death is result of:
    • Suicide or attempted suicide,
    • Infirmity or disease of mind or body or treatment for it, or
    • War or act of war.
  • Both premiums and benefits cease at age 70.
Accelerated Death Benefit Rider
  • Also known as Terminal Illness Accelerated Death Benefits Rider.
  • Life expectancy of 12 months or less.
  • When death benefit payout is accelerated, there is a processing fee of $100.
  • Benefit will equal either $250,000 or 50% of the eligible amount, whichever is less.
Child Rider
  • Child rider option available to insureds aged 18-55 at issue.
  • Rider provides coverage on children, including stepchildren, if aged 15 days to 17 years.
  • Rider can be converted to a new policy up to five times the rider face amount.
  • Parent (or child) can convert rider on the policy on the child’s 25th birthday or at expiration of the rider, whichever occurs first.
Premium Waiver for Disability Rider
  • Rider available to individuals aged 18-59 at issue.
  • Not available on policies if insured is rated greater than Table 4.
  • Disability must begin between ages of 18 and 65.
  • Disability is defined as the inability to perform one’s own occupation for the first 24 months and any occupation thereafter for which one is suited.
  • Benefits end if policy is converted, insured turns age 65, or disability ends.
